Boyne Writers Group is organizing Trim Poetry Festival 2019 to celebrate the 25th issue of their magazine, Boyne Berries. The festival will take place on 15 and 16 March 2019.
In conjunction with the festival a competition is being held, details on the competition page, see link on the right. Entries for this competition are now closed. A shortlist will be posted here at the end of February 2019.
Friday 15 March.
7.30pm: Launch by poet and publisher Peter Fallon (Gallery Press) of Boyne Berries 25 and of Trim Poetry Festival.

Poetry Reading by Peter Fallon.
Peter Fallon grew up on his uncle's farm near Kells in County Meath. At the age of eighteen he founded The Gallery Press which has published more than four hundred books of poems and plays by the country's finest established and emerging authors. His translation of The Georgics of Virgil was published in 2004 and was subsequently published by Oxford in its World's Classics series. Peter’s most recent collections are The Company of Horses (2007) and Strong, My Love (2014). Peter Fallon received the 1993 O'Shaughnessy Poetry Award from the Irish American Cultural Institute. He is a member of Aosdána and Honorary Member of the RHA. He lives in Loughcrew in County Meath where he farmed for many years.

Poetry Workshop: ‘Write Now’ - an interactive and motivational poetry workshop with poet, Ron Carey. Cost per person, 20 euro.
Booking opens on 1 January 2019. Book by PayPal link on the right. Participants should bring some old photos and a small, favourite object from home.

Ron Carey was born in Limerick and lives in Dublin. In 2015, he received a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of South Wales. His first poetry collection, Distance, was shortlisted for the Forward Prize Best First Collection 2016, UK and Ireland. His second collection, Racing Down the Sun, was launched towards the end of 2018.
Poetry reading by Enda Wyley.
Enda Wyley is a poet and children's author and has five poetry collections to her name. She is a recipient of the Patrick and Katherine Kavanagh fellowship for her poetry and is a member of Aosdána. Her collection Borrowed Space: New & Selected Poems was published by Dedalus in 2014.
